A Utah man’s horrifying experience left him scarred for life when he sipped from a cup of urine delivered by a Grubhub driver instead of the Chick-fil-A milkshake he ordered. The incident is enough to leave anyone checking their orders immediately before consuming anything.
Shak-en to the Core
In an interview with a local news outlet, Caleb Woods revealed that he ordered fries and a shake from Chic-fil-A through the Grubhub app..
“When I eagerly dug into my delivered meal, I nonchalantly inserted a straw into the cup and took a sip,” said Woods. “To my utter shock, the liquid I tasted was not the refreshing beverage I had anticipated, but rather a disturbingly warm cup of urine delivered by the GrubHub driver.”
Confronting The Delivery Driver
On his way out, the delivery driver was confronted by Woods. The whole thing was captured on Woods’ home security system, providing a record of their interaction.
Woods held up the styrofoam cup commenting, “You’ve got to be kidding me. This cup is half full of pee! Did you even realize that?” Woods couldn’t help but react to the absurdity of the situation. The Grubhub driver admitted he accidentally switched the cups.
Drivers Face Challenges on the Job
Shockingly the driver revealed that due to long hours, he often resorts to using a cup in his car to relieve himself. This revelation sheds new light on the challenges faced by delivery drivers and raises concerns about their working conditions.
Lacking Customer Service
Despite the disgusting and unsettling experience, Woods was only offered a partial refund.
Wood revealed that the order cost approximately $25, and he only received a refund of only $18. That was only for the initial cost of the food and didn’t include the delivery fee and tip. Grubhub has responded to the incident, stating that they took immediate action by terminating the driver’s contract. The company is also reaching out to the customer to apologize.
There Might be an Issue in the Industry
Earlier this year, DoorDash faced similar backlash when a driver spat on a 13-year-old boy’s food because of an insufficient tip. The company issued an apology, acknowledging the driver’s behavior as unacceptable and not aligned with their commitment to providing a high-quality experience.
